Solar Still Makes Sense in 2020

Solar Still Makes Sense in 2020

Solar Energy in Australia has been a story of significant growth over the decade. Since 2009 cumulative capacity of Solar in Australia has grown from nearly zero to 18,583,305 KWs in June 2020 (as per the Australian PV Institute). To put that into context that is enough power to run an off the shelf light bulb for around 371,666,100 hours. But, is it still worth it to by Solar for your home or Business in 2020?

Hot Kitchen Trends This Year

Hot Kitchen Trends This Year

The kitchen is considered the heart of every home. With everyone forced to stay indoors to slow down the spread of COVID-19, kitchens are seeing more traffic than any place in the house.  In addition to preparing meals, most people prefer to eat, talk, and even work at the kitchen table, a reason you might want to consider a kitchen renovation. Depending on the condition of your kitchen, a few simple upgrades should give it a fresh new look and improved functionality.

The Westpac Foundation Rural Community Grants program

The Westpac Foundation Rural Community Grants program provides funding for education and training projects delivered in rural communities to create pathways out of disadvantage.

With higher rates of socioeconomic disadvantage in rural and remote Australia compared to cities and metropolitan areas, the program can help respond to these challenges, which are exacerbated by the drought, fires and now COVID-19.

To apply for a $10,000 grant and learn more about the program, visit: http://ow.ly/dM0G50zfp4H

Roy's Column

Roy Butler MP Member for Barwon

After the year we’re having it’s important to stop and ask yourself and those around you R U OK?

On 10 September as a Nation we come together and ask that question, but it’s important that we keep asking and keep checking in with each other. Times are getting better in Barwon, the crops are looking great and the stock numbers are back on the rise – but never assume that this means mentally everyone’s OK. So ask the question R U OK? and be prepared to stop, listen and provide support.

This past weekend I have been on the road with the Police from the Western Region as part of the 10th Annual Wall to Wall Police Remembrance ride. Every day the members of the NSW Police Force go to work not knowing what to expect, sadly some never come home from their shift. To the Police right across Barwon, stay safe out there and thank you for what you do.

This week I am heading back into Parliament, following the events of last week its sure to be heavy on the politicking.

Check on your strong friends, check on your quiet friends, check on your happy friends, check on each other.

Roy

Killarney Bike Classic

27th September 2020

The Killarney Bike Classic started six years ago to raise funds for our local cancer groups and also as a way to remember a local farmer and grazier, Mark Lampe who rode from Killarney Gap to Sawn Rocks with a group of friends for an Easter get together with their families. Less than three months later, Mark lost his short battle with cancer. Mark grew up in Narrabri and loved the district. He would be so proud of the effort and support from so many people that will help make other families lives a little bit easier when they have to face the battle with cancer.
